With respect to the extension of Bob’s contract, Phil Gleason commented, “We are delighted that Bob has agreed to continue in the President’s role for the next year and a half. This is a critical transitional period for the seminary, and we are blessed that we will have Bob’s experienced hand at the helm, providing much needed continuity.” Bob will continue to oversee day to day operations, and will remain active on the Third Century Committee. Bob said that he is “humbled and gratified by the confidence placed in me by the Board, and appreciative of the support and encouragement I’ve received from the entire seminary community. As we face the challenges before us, I have been blessed to serve with a staff, faculty, and Board that deeply loves this school.  We are all working hard to preserve a legacy of offering education for a learned leadership to the churches, leadership which will be relevant in the Twenty-first Century.”

The BTS Board of Trustees is deeply committed to making this next academic year 2012-2013 the best possible for its students, faculty, staff, and alumni. The Board is appreciative of the BTS community’s patience and grace displayed through this difficult transition and values the community's input in planning for the Seminary’s future. More information about how people can participate in this process will be forthcoming.
